The office will be closed in observation of the following holidays:

The Charlotte County Tax Collector's Office will soon be changing software vendors which means that some online services will temporarily be unavailable.
August 26, 2010 at 5:00PM will be the last day to pay Tourist Development Tax online.
September 3, 2010 at 5:00PM will be the last day to pay Business and Personal Property Taxes online.
We will communicate via our website when these online services are available again.
Beginning July 1, 2010 the license to catch saltwater fish from a shore or a structure affixed
to shore will be free for Florida residents. A processing fee may still apply. Many other hunting and fishing
license fees will be increased on July 1. You can read about all of the changes at

The certificate list for the County Held Certificates can now be viewed by going to our Delinquent Tax Files Downloads page. County held certificates can be purchased by coming into our office.

IMPORTANT DRIVER LICENSE INFORMATION
As of January 1, 2010, the documentation requirements have changed for Florida residents
wishing to renew or obtain a new driver license or identification card. Residents
visiting the office must now show proof of 1) U.S. Citizenship, 2) Social Security Number,
and 3) Residential Address (2 forms) before obtaining their identification card or driver license.

affordable vehicle history reports directly from our website.

Motor vehicle fees in Florida have increased for all drivers
as a result of legislation enacted by the 2009 legislature. The Florida Dept. of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles has posted the new fees on their website.
Please note that these are base fees only and actual amounts due will vary. For example, all driver license
transactions have an additional $6.25 added and other statutory fees are applied to vehicle registrations.
