Excess Fees Distribution
Each year, The Charlotte County Tax Collector returns any fees that exceed the office's operating expenses to the Board of County Commissioners and other local taxing authorities. Below are the excess fees that have been returned to the County over the past several years.

Legacy Award
Charlotte County Tax Collector's Office has earned a special designation for excellence in the field of financial operations. The Legacy Award is one of the most significant honors the Florida Tax Collectors Association awards a Tax Collector. We are honored to announce we have received this award each year since 2011. The process involved for consideration of the Legacy Award is rigorous and includes a comprehensive review of the financial functions of our office.
Certificate of Merit awarded August 18, 2025
Charlotte County Tax Collector's Office received this award upon a review of the records related to the audit of the Tax Collector's financial statements for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2024. The Florida Tax Collectors Association and the Finance Awards Program Judging Panel recognize and honor the Tax Collector for achieving a clean audit free of any findings.
